Anthropic just shipped a native Agentic OS.
Claude Projects received a massive architecture upgrade that changes how AI teams work.
The updated Claude Projects introduces a complete agentic operating system built directly into the platform.
Instead of running disconnected chat windows inside folders, Claude now functions as an orchestrated multi-thread system.
Here are the 5 major features introduced in this Agentic OS release:
1. Top-level orchestrator conversation.
You brief a master conversation like a team lead, and Claude automatically dispatches new background threads or routes work to open sessions.
2. Asynchronous cloud execution.
Background threads execute continuously in the cloud, allowing long-running agent tasks to finish even after you close your laptop.
3. Built-in project RAG retrieval.
Claude automatically searches project knowledge bases using an integrated retrieval layer, pulling only relevant document snippets to prevent context window overload.
4. Shared context and memory inheritance.
Sub-threads automatically inherit project repositories, uploaded documentation, system instructions, and persistent memory files.
5. Granular team permissions.
Organizations can assign view-only or edit permissions across team members to share decisions and project knowledge securely.
How will native agentic orchestration change your team’s AI workflow?
